2025/2026 Class Schedule:

All classes are held on Wednesdays at Black Hills Community Church 618 E Elk St, Rapid City. We schedule 13 weeks each semester to allow for a snow day.
Fall Semester:
- Classes: September 3rd - December 3rd
- No Class: November 26th
- Christmas Concert: Thursday, December 4th at 6:30 P.M.
Spring Semester:
- Classes: January 14th - April 15th
- No Class: April 1st
- Spring Concert: Thursday, April 16th at 6:30 P.M.

Concerts

The program is changing its concert night to Thursday evenings to as we realize there are other Christmas programs on Friday evenings in December.

Location: First Assembly of God Church, 4905 Mt. Rushmore Rd., Rapid City.
Performance Expectation: When you enroll your child, it's assumed they will perform in the concert. While they understand that conflicts happen, the program relies on all students being present for every concert.
Concert Donations: Due to copyright laws, we cannot charge admission. However, we suggest a $3 per person donation to help cover the significant cost ($650+) of renting the church for each concert. Since we typically receive less than half of that at each concert, your contributions are crucial for keeping the program affordable.

Fees and Refunds

Semesters: We offer two separate semesters. Tuition is to be paid at the beginning of each semester.

There's a $25 non-refundable cleaning/insurance fee per child, charged each semester (this is slightly different than last semester). Max cleaning/insurance fee of $75 a semester a family.
Refund Policy: Due to the upfront costs of music and supplies, refunds are limited. You can receive a maximum refund of $50 (with some exceptions) if the class isn't a good fit. No refunds will be given after 4 classes.

Important Schedule Changes!

Last year's beginning and intermediate band members will be permanent members of the 12:30 Concert Band.

Second Semester New Students:

Allegro Choir is always open to new students. Preference for Prelude Choir is given to students who attended in the first semester, however, there are usually slots available.
If your child already plays an instrument, contact Paula Meloy for band/strings or Rebecca Freidel for guitar.
New Beginner band, string, and guitar students must be enrolled in the first semester. No new beginner classes will be offered the second semester.
